Update on Sense Scotland activity

All of Sense Scotland’s services are under constant review during this time. The following changes have been made since our last update (2nd April):

  • We have refocused our Family Advisory service to take enquiries related to Coronavirus. Email advisory@sensescotland.org.uk and our advisors will be in touch.
  • We have created a section on the website called Home Activities which encourages families to ‘Be Well, Be Creative and Be Playful’ by offering ideas for activities.
  • We are featuring stories about how the people we support and our staff on the frontline are continuing to flourish. Read these on Twitter and Facebook.
  • We continue to look for funding opportunities to ensure we can continue to provide the right support for people now and in future.
  • We launched an Urgent Appeal to try and minimise the impact of Coronavirus on our income. Planned fundraising events remain postponed.
  • We have temporarily closed Ardlui House Respite Service in Helensburgh as families are, understandably, choosing to keep their loved ones at home at this time.
  • Our shops remain closed until further notice as do TouchBase Glasgow’s business centre and café.
  • We are constantly reviewing our services and finding ways to support vulnerable disabled people, working in partnership with other organisations.
  • We are learning from this crisis and beginning to look to the future, thinking about how we can continue to deliver quality, personalised services to people we support and their families.
