Sense Scotland’s family advisors will be on hand to help families impacted by the Coronavirus crisis, the charity announced today.
“Life under lockdown can be challenging,” said Executive Director Angela Bonomy, “and we recognise that parents and carers may need somewhere to turn for advice, ideas or even to hear a friendly voice on the end of the phone.
“Just as we’ve had to adapt our frontline services to support the most vulnerable through this crisis, we’ve also had to do the same with other activities and support we provide.”
The free Family Advisory Service will now focus on enquiries related to the impact of Coronavirus and will operate via the email advisory@sensescotland.org.uk, with advisors getting back in touch with families Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
Much of Sense Scotland’s focus has been on ensuring vital frontline services continue to operate for the most vulnerable. The charity felt it was also important to maintain a connection with those who are usually supported in other ways – via home visits, stay and play sessions and regular outings.
As well as making Family Advisory available, Sense Scotland will soon use their website to share their knowledge, ideas and activities with families at home.
