Lifetime of care is worth celebrating

It’s our 35th birthday in September…and we’re putting on a number of activities to celebrate. Join us…

During the 35 days from Saturday 29th August to Friday 2nd October, we’ll post news, facts, fundraising ideas, shops offers and a bit of nostalgia on our social media. We’ll also:

  • Hold our AGM and Family Conference, giving families the chance to get together virtually.
  • Support three fundraising events which have something for everyone, even the dog!
  • Compile Spotify playlists of tunes from the past to party to and ask our staff and the people we support how they want to mark the milestone.

When families first pressed for services for their deafblind children in 1985, even they could not have predicted what Sense Scotland would become … an organisation which supports hundreds of people with complex communication support needs.

We’ve stayed true to our values over the past 35 years, providing love, care and expertise which supports people to live meaningful lives. To ensure we’re here for the next 35 years we’re looking for people to help us raise much-needed funds. You can take part in:

Undertake any kind of challenge that involves the numbers 3.5 or 35. Be as creative as you like. Run those distances in kilometres, bake 35 cakes, draw a picture every day for 35 days! The challenge is only as limited as your imagination. Read Lizzie’s story of undertaking the challenge.

Raise a minimum of £350 per team at a course of your choice before the end of October 2020. All entries will have the chance of winning a four-ball at a prestigious Scottish Championship-standard course.

Nico is ready for Paws for Sense Scotland.

If you’re a dog owner why not ‘take the lead’ and help raise £35? All you have to do is walk a minimum of 3.5km on Sunday 20th September at a time and place that suits and share a pic of your pet with the hashtag #PawsForSenseScotland.

Thanks for supporting us for 35 years, here’s to the next 35!
