The Coronavirus situation has created a host of new problems for ordinary life in every household, but for disabled children and adults and their families life can be especially challenging under ‘lockdown’.
That’s why we are working hard to adapt our frontline services and create new solutions that ensure they get the support they need. To do that we need your help more than ever.
Many supporters have already been in touch to ask how they can support us at this time, either through donations, support in kind, or just to give us a morale boosting message. Those acts of generosity are hugely appreciated and we’d like to thank all who have come forward.
Our complete focus is now on supporting people with disabilities and their families to get through the Coronavirus crisis. If you are able to make a donation that will help us with our work, please consider doing so via Just Giving. If you want to speak to our fundraising team about how you can help please contact fundraising@sensescotland.org.uk.

Sense Scotland services
The Coronavirus situation means we need to respond quickly to adapt our services in a fast-changing situation. Our number one priority is the safety and wellbeing of the families we support, our staff and volunteers.
Therefore all of our programmes and services will remain under constant review and subject to change. Sense Scotland is continuing to follow all official advice and have a dedicated planning and response team in place to guide us through this challenging time.

Summary of service changes – update Thursday, 2nd April 2020
Supported Living Services will continue to be delivered as normal.
In light of government guidance on social distancing other services are being delivered at a reduced capacity or have ceased for the time being.
If you receive a service from us, staff will be in touch to explain what these decisions mean for you. Please appreciate that we are in an unprecedented situation and may not have the answers to all your questions at this time but we will do everything we can to respond to you in a timely manner.
In the meantime we are looking at other ways of how we can support families who access activities provided by us.
Fundraising events
Our planned fundraising events have been postponed for the time being. If you were due to take part in an event for us, our fundraising team should have been in touch to update you.
If you haven’t heard from them, would like further information on future events or if you’d still like to make a donation now to help us continue our work during the Coronavirus crisis, please email fundraising@sensescotland.org.uk. You can also make a donation via our Just Giving page.
Visiting us
To ensure that we play our part in encouraging people to stay at home and protect the NHS, we have cancelled all planned visits and meetings at all of our premises. Please follow Scottish Government guidance on staying at home and away from others (social distancing).
Our shops
In line with Scottish Government advice on social distancing, all of our shops are currently closed and we cannot accept donations of goods or uplift furniture. Our customers are a great support for our work and we look forward to seeing you in person again soon. Remember, we operate an online shop, if you want to have a look.
Thank you for your continued support
We appreciate the support you give us day in, day out, whether you are a regular giver, a shop customer or someone who pops in to our TouchBase Glasgow café for their lunch every week. During this time we’ve been boosted by some lovely messages of thanks, or hope and of praise for our work with vulnerable people. Thank you. It means a lot.
