Welcome to the family

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome new colleagues and people supported to Sense Scotland.

More than 100 new staff and 80 families have joined us as the transfer of RNIB’s (Royal National Institute of Blind People) Visual Impairment and Learning Disability (VILD) services was completed as planned this week.

Sense Scotland now have responsibility for the services based in Bishopbriggs, Clydebank, Kirkcaldy and Lochgelly.

Angela Bonomy, Executive Director of Sense Scotland, said: “We are delighted to officially welcome everyone associated with VILD to Sense Scotland. Thank you to RNIB for trusting us to continue delivering these vital services for people with a visual impairment and learning disability, and to the RNIB and Sense Scotland teams who have worked so hard to make the transfer happen.”

Angela Clements, Chair of Sense Scotland, said: “The Trustees of Sense Scotland extend a warm welcome to all the individuals and families who use the VILD services, as well as the staff who support them. Their knowledge and expertise will strengthen Sense Scotland and the services we already provide.”
