On Saturday 21st May 2022, we donated all sales from our 16 charity shops to support disabled children affected by the conflict in Ukraine. The funds raised on the day were donated to the Ukraine appeal set up by Inclusion Europe, an organisation representing people with learning disabilities and their families across 39 European countries.

This fundraising effort comes three months after the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces and carries particular urgency following news that thousands of disabled Ukrainian children have been abandoned in care institutions. Administered by Inclusion Europe, all funds raised will go to 118 Ukrainian organisations supporting people with learning disabilities to buy food, water, medicine, hygiene products, and other urgently required goods.

As a mark of additional solidarity with Ukraine, our fantastic retail staff and volunteers decorated the shops in the blue and yellow colours of the Ukrainian flag. Collection buckets were present in the shops for further donations to the fundraising effort.
