Staff and Volunteer Awards 2022 – A Rollicking Good Time!

Group hug at the Sense Scotland Staff and Volunteer Awards

On the evening of Thursday 29th September 2022, over 120 staff members and volunteers gathered to celebrate our Staff and Volunteer Awards – the first in three years.

Traditionally held at TouchBase Glasgow, the organisers decided to go all-out this year – after all, nothing was too much for our fantastic staff and volunteers! Nominees and guests received an invitation to the Village Hotel in Glasgow, where they had the opportunity to dress as glamorously as possible and enjoy some delightful entertainment, great food, and even a boogie on the dancefloor.

Our host for the evening was the incomparable Edward Reid, who had the audience laughing, dancing, and waving their napkins in the air. Edward was joined by our Chief Executive, Angela Bonomy, and the duo led us through over a dozen awards celebrating and recognising the tremendous work of our staff and volunteers.

An extra special award was presented to Paul Hart, Head of Research and Practice, who recently reached the milestone of 35 years at Sense Scotland. The award was presented to Paul by Brian Murphy, Director of Operations, with all attendees giving a spontaneous standing applause in recognition of the tremendous dedication and commitment Paul has given to Sense Scotland over the years.

After all the winners were announced, attendees flocked to the dancefloor where Edward sang a number of songs and even led them in a conga line around the entire room.

The event was a huge success, and it was extremely uplifting to see people reunited after several years to celebrate their exceptional work. Plans are already in place for 2023… watch this space!
