Arts Tutor Profiles

Rebecca Scott

Now based in North Ayrshire, Rebecca Scott has worked for over ten years as a community artist, teacher and tutor with community groups, schools, social enterprises and charities. Rebecca has facilitated a range of workshops taking place in diverse locations including community gardens, a music festival and a prison, and as part of larger projects for employers such as the NHS and East Ayrshire Council. She has also organised her own courses and classes independently as a freelancer.

Rebecca incorporates printmaking techniques, acrylics, inks, blind drawing and mixed media in her own artworks. She has exhibited extensively in Scotland and also in the north of England, London and Italy. These exhibitions have included several solo shows. Numerous visual art and illustration commissions for private, public and commercial clients have followed. Rebecca’s artwork is held in private collections all over the world, from the USA to Thailand.

Rebecca started working in her role as an Arts Tutor at Sense Scotland in August 2022.

I am new to this role and still learning and greatly enjoying one-to-one sessions and small group sessions with the people we support at TouchBase Ayrshire. So far, we have worked on painting, printmaking, clay modelling, textiles, papercrafts, sensory play, mixed media, collage and mural-making. We have lots of plans for the future including seasonal crafts, puppet-making and other group activities. I have been made to feel very welcome at Sense Scotland and I am excited to be working with the team at Ardrossan. It is very inspiring to see what the other tutors have created with the people we support.
