Visual art is a form of expression that utilizes various media including painting, sculpture, photography, and illustration to communicate ideas and emotions. It is a powerful medium for creativity and self-expression, often telling a story or capturing a moment in time. Visual art can evoke strong feelings and create a unique connection between the viewer and the artist.
The people we support use traditional materials and methods such as drawing and painting, or explorative options including sensory materials, textures and smells, to create their artwork. Our art tutors take their lead from the people we support, allowing freedom for each individual to develop their own unique creativity.
Drawing and painting are traditional visual art forms that use lines, shapes, colors and texture to create images and express emotions, ideas, and perspectives. Traditional mediums offer endless possibilities for creativity, imagination and self-expression.
Art using sensory materials focuses on engaging the senses through tactile, visual, auditory, and olfactory experiences. These materials encourage exploration and creativity, promoting sensory stimulation, cognitive development, and sensory integration. Examples include paint, clay, sand, water, and light.
