Big Impact

For the families and carers of people we support it gives them a chance to access information, meet new people and find out more about the organisation. For Sense Scotland it is an opportunity to connect with our families and have constructive discussions about everything we do.

Family Conference 2020

Due to Coronavirus restrictions we were unable to hold our 2020 conference in person. Instead, on Friday 11th September, we held a virtual event where a number of families from across the country joined us to meet the Board and Executive team, find out more about our response to the Coronavirus crisis and ask questions.

Family Conference 2018

Families of people we support gathered at TouchBase Glasgow for the Family Conference on 29th September 2018. After a welcome and presentation families had the opportunity to take part in workshops including legal matters, transition in to adulthood and the ‘My Support Plan’ which we use across our services at Sense Scotland.

We had our first live weblink at the conference, so that those who couldn’t be there in person were there ‘virtually’ on the day.

“Coming along to the Conference just gave us a massive boost as a family – I felt like I was ‘among family’, surrounded by people who get the challenges of dealing with disability and I just felt incredibly supported. I would definitely come again.”
