Donating goods to Sense Scotland has a number of benefits: it helps to raise much needed income to support disabled children and adults; goods are re-used and find another home; and anything we can’t sell is recycled rather than going to landfill.
We ask that all goods should be in a saleable condition. We will take:
Note that clothes will be steam cleaned and furniture cleaned and checked to quality mark standards.
If you are donating clothing which is well-used and not suitable for resale in our shops, please bag these items separately and put a note on the bag. We can sell material and rags to companies that can repurpose and recycle these items. Â
Please note that we do not accept broken bric-a-brac or damaged electrical items.
Sense Scotland welcomes donations direct to our shops. Find details of your local shop here.
We can collect valuable, delicate or large furniture items only. Due to the cost involved in the safe disposal of older foam filled furniture, Sense Scotland reserves the right to refuse certain types of furniture. All foam filled furniture must have a fire safety label to let us know it meets UK fire safety standards.
Fill out the form below to request a free uplift of large items.
If you are a UK taxpayer you can help us raise an extra 25% from every item you donate by simply filling in a Gift Aid form. To sign up, take your donated items to your local Sense Scotland shop and ask our staff for a Gift Aid form. If you are having items collected our drivers also carry the Gift Aid forms. It only takes a few minutes, but makes a huge difference.
They’ll give you a Gift Aid donor card with your unique donor number. Simply bring the card with you every time you donate to our shops. Once your items have been sold, we’ll let you know how much money you’ve helped us raise. We can then reclaim the tax from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.
