Over the last few months, people from our Aberdeen and Ellon services have been exploring indoor and outdoor spaces around Aberdeen to find inspiration for an urban mapping art project.
The Urban Mapping project is funded by Aberdeen City Council and so far, visits have included Cruickshank Botanic Gardens, Saint Machar Cathedral and the Zoology Museum.
The project is facilitated by freelance artist Jemima Chillingworth and Walk Leader Matt Parkes. The artists taking part in the project have been discovering interesting places and exhibits in the city, then using the experiences to inspire artwork developed back at the studio.
Everyone involved is enjoying developing and seeing the project progress, working towards the final stages of creating and exhibiting the resulting artworks.
The results will be showcased at an event in the Cruickshank Botanic Gardens later this summer.
