Our staff and supporters proved they’ll walk on hot coals in aid of Sense Scotland – quite literally as a brave bunch took part in a Firewalk this week.
On Thursday 3rd March, 19 brave people ticked ‘Firewalk’ off their bucket list.
The event was help at TouchBase Glasgow and the group was supported by Karen Sterling, from Blaze Firewalking. They participants went through 90 minutes of training before heading outside to witness the lighting of the fire that awaited them.
After a final pep talk, the firewalkers came out to a fantastic reception from friends and family, who’d turned up to cheer them on.
With music playing and the crowd clapping and cheering, it was clear the firewalkers were up for the challenge.
Jan Chebrika said: ‘Loved it! I took part in last year’s Firewalk and couldn’t get signed up fast enough to do it again this year. What a rush and sense of achievement you feel.
A huge thanks
A huge thank you and well done to all the brave firewalkers who took part, and also to karen and the guys from Blaze Firewalking for their brilliant support.
So far, the participants have raised £2,045 with sponsorship funds still coming in so we are on way to reaching the £3,000 mark we hoped for.
