We’d like to say a huge congratulations to our Sense Scotland stars who picked up ASDAN Awards this week.
Andy Kerr, Sense Scotland Chief Executive said: ‘It’s a great celebration of the achievements of the people we support’
ASDAN Awards are recognised qualifications that are open to everyone and offer a flexible way of recognising personal development.
Some of the awards presented to our members included ‘Cooking’ ‘Using Public Transport’ and ‘Coping With People’ – everyday things that many of us take for granted but present great challenges for our members.
‘The sky’s the limit’
Kieran Johnstone (14), was the youngest student to receive an award and collected certificates for ‘Sensory Experience’, ‘Sound, Music & Rhythm’ and ‘Using ICT’.
His mum, Annmarie said: ‘I was so proud to see all his work, it’s quite magical.’
There’s no stopping Kieran; since his achievements, he’s already working towards an ‘Events’ award which has saw him zipline, abseil and even fish with Jack Charlton.
What’s next for Kieran?
Annmarie said: ‘Who knows? The sky’s the limit!’
