Taking over the mantle from Sir Andrew will be Andy Kerr, CEO of
Sense Scotland, a former MSP and Cabinet Minister of the Scottish
Government, an experienced Quality Assurance professional and

He will be a passionate advocate for Quality Scotland's values and
contribution to the Scottish economy by leading the board and its
growing membership community.
Under Sir Andrew's chairmanship Quality Scotland, the National
Partner of EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) and
the official home of the EFQM Excellence Model in Scotland, now in
its 25th year, has helped over 900 organisations, across all
sectors in Scotland to improve business performance, deliver
quality and achieve sustainable business excellence.
Sir Andrew said: "I am very proud of what we have achieved at
Quality Scotland. With our dedicated team of 20 staff we have been
at the forefront of helping Scottish business and other
organisations in the public and third sectors improve in their
performance, furthering our aim of making excellence a national
characteristic of Scotland."
Cubie added, "I am delighted that the Board has appointed Andy
Kerr to take over the Chair's role, and am confident his previous
wealth of experience in politics, business and the third sector
will be an asset to Quality Scotland and their ambitions going
forward."
Claire Ford, CEO of Quality Scotland, said: "We are very
appreciative of Sir Andrew's contribution and support over the
years and there is no doubt we will all miss him when he stands
down but we wish him well for the future."
She continued: "We are absolutely delighted that Andy Kerr, with
his wide-ranging experience and passion for quality and excellence
has agreed to become our new Chair and we are looking forward to
continuing to develop and increase the impact of Quality Scotland
under his leadership."
Newly appointed Chair Andy Kerr stated: "Becoming the Chair of
Quality Scotland is an absolute privilege. It's a big task but also
an amazing opportunity to continue my personal quality journey and
that of Scotland. The work that Quality Scotland does is central to
our growth as an economy and a nation and I am delighted to take up
the challenge of making excellence a national characteristic of
Scotland.
"Quality and its approaches to it are woven throughout my entire
working life in so many ways as a practitioner, as an advocate and
as a senior decision maker and I truly want to make a
difference.
"Succeeding Sir Andrew Cubie will not be easy but I look forward
to working with Claire Ford, CEO, the Quality Scotland Board and
staff to continue the pursuit of excellence."
