Easterhouse Store named ‘Top of the Shops’
Our Easterhouse shop has just been awarded the Shop of the Year Award (for financial year 2008/2009). It has now become the most successful shop since the awards started over 10 years ago, winning the title three times. Liz Cole, Manager of the Easterhouse shop, was delighted to receive the award along with staff and volunteers.
Gillian Morbey, Chief Executive of Sense Scotland, handed them a certificate at a ceremony in the shop. Asked why they thought the shop had been successful Liz and the staff explained;
‘...the atmosphere in the shop is very happy, both volunteers and staff keep it happy!”
“...they’re like a family here.”
“...customers sometimes come in the store two or three times a day, because they know there’s constantly new stock being added.”
“...customers like to come in for a wee chat.”
“Well done to the Easterhouse staff and volunteers for winning our Shop of the Year,” said John Brady, Head of Fundraising. “Despite the challenges of the current economic climate, Easterhouse and all our shops across Scotland have been working even harder to raise funds for the important work we do. It’s always a struggle to get donations so we’d encourage people to visit and contribute to all our stores.”
Window displays are a key part in encouraging people to drop in and Easterhouse are planning a wedding themed window display later in June.
