Posh cut raises funds at LUV Fete

Baking, Crafts, Books, CD’s, and prizes...a great day out for the family

Event: LUV Fete - annual charity fundraiser for Sense Scotland childrens’ services

Date and Time: 12 noon – 4.00pm: Saturday 14th February 2009

Location enter at TouchBase reception on Milnpark Street, Kinning Park (between Portman St. & Middlesex St.) Glasgow G41 1EE

Organised by Sense Scotland’s Children and Families team and parents and families, LUV Fete returns for a second year. The event will raise money for the charity’s children and families’ services. This year’s event will include face-painting, home baking, a book, CD and DVD sale, and the chance to win a range of prizes in a Tombola draw. There will also be a selection of heart themed artwork on sale, created in art sessions by children and young people who are supported by Sense Scotland. Also helping raise money is mother Sinéad, who will be getting a special fundraising haircut in the style of Posh Spice, courtesy of Taylor Ferguson. At LUV Fete people will then have the chance to win a prize by guessing the weight of Sinead’s hair clippings. Sinéad’s disabled son Daniel attends the charity’s Parent and Toddler Group and his older brother Leo goes to the Siblings Group. Sinéad explained:

“It’s such a help to have the support of Sense Scotland for both my sons as well as for the whole family. I thought by doing this sponsored hairstyling I could maybe help raise a little more for the fantastic services provided by the children and families team,”

Sinéad and husband Stephen are also set to get a special gift from STV’s ‘the five thirty show’, who heard about her fundraising and decided to treat the couple to a Valentines night out. Isabel McLachlan, Head of Sense Scotland’s Children and Family Services has high hopes for the event:

“Bring your family and friends to TouchBase to join the activities, browse stalls and win some special prizes! All money raised will go towards supporting many disabled children and their families to enjoy a better life.”
