In Our Own Voices...the process of story gathering. - Exhibition in February

Dates: 2nd - 27th February 2009

Venue: Inverness Museum and Art Gallery (Community Gallery), Castle Wynd, Inverness, IV2 3EB

Exhibition information: Sense Scotland was awarded a Heritage Lottery grant to preserve the life stories of former residents of New Craigs Hospital, who have moved (or are currently moving) into their own homes. The ‘In Our Own Voices...the process of story gathering’ exhibition will show some of the ways in which this project is supporting people to ensure their heritage and culture is not lost. This will include photos of activities, such as story-box making, memory journeys, drama and story groups. There will also be a selection of visual art by people about their lives.

For exhibition information telephone Sense Scotland: 0141 429 0294

Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 10am – 5pm

Free entry

Venue information: The gallery is at the top of a hill which is short, but rather steep. There are two parking spaces close to the museum entrance, reserved for people who have difficulty with the approach to the building, and there is a dropped kerb at the main door. The museum is on two floors and has a platform lift, which means that both floors of the museum and all facilities are now accessible to wheelchair users.
