Football hero kicks off Borneo Challenge
Sense Scotland and PFA Scotland need footie fans for unique jungle challenge!
The Professional Footballers' Association Scotland has joined forces with Sense Scotland to create the Borneo Challenge 2009. This offers football fans the chance to join six Scottish football legends as they lead six teams in a week of exciting challenges in the heart of the Borneo jungle.
"We jumped at the chance to join this challenge which will ultimately raise thousands of pounds for Sense Scotland's brilliant work across the country," explained Fraser Wishart, PFA Scotland's Chief Executive. "It's a one-off chance for football fans to meet their football heroes and enjoy the experience of a lifetime in Borneo."
Team captains joining Fraser announced will be announced soon. Fundraisers who are up to the challenge will compete against as part of six rival teams to build up points and be crowned champions. In the magical setting of the jungles of Borneo participants will take part in activities including jungle trekking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, blow darts, abseiling, a sunrise mountain hike, raft building and perhaps most importantly a football match against a local team from Borneo.
This challenge of a lifetime in the jungles of Borneo takes place from 19th - 28th June 2009 and bookings being taken now! The registration fee is £275; each entrant for this one off challenge is expected to raise £2,750 which will help disabled children and adults supported by the Sense Scotland across the country.
