Glasgow Taxis ensure fashion show arrives in style
Our seventh Charity Fashion Show returns on Friday 30th March 2007 and promises to be the most exciting yet. Presented by Radio Clyde's Adrian Coll and Suzie McGuire the show is sponsored by Glasgow Taxis, who's generosity will help ensure a great night out.
"Last year's show set records for the money raised; this year we're aiming even higher with a target of £30,000," enthused Andy Hughes, Sense Scotland's Senior Events Fundraiser. "We're delighted to get such a huge boost from our new main sponsors Glasgow Taxis. I'd urge people to book early for an night of glamour and entertainment, also featuring the work of up and coming young designers."
After a sparkling reception and three course dinner, guests will enjoy a professional show featuring Rage and Slater Menswear and be entertained by a variety of music, stalls, a raffle and tombola.
The show also launches a partnership between Sense Scotland and Glasgow Cardonald College Textiles and Fashion Design students. Following a workshop with the organisation's arts team and a person who uses Sense Scotland services, students will create tactile designs which for clothing to be worn and enjoyed by people with sensory impairments and other disabilities. Although the 1st year students will not be creating finished work for the catwalk this year, they will display examples of garments showing how the project is developing. The arts team will then continue to work with the students in their 2nd year as they develop fully finished pieces to be modelled at future shows.
