Christmas spirit helps make children's party a success
We were set for the usual Christmas party at one of our Glasgow centres when it became apparent that it wasn't going to be big enough. With just days to find an alternative venue for around 200 partygoers we struggled to find a suitable, reasonably priced venue. Fortunately Pollokshields Burgh Hall in Glasgow was able to step in and offer us use of their hall, which is conveniently close to the original venue.
Thanks to the generosity of Cash For Kids, Your More Store, Asda Parkhead and Govan, Woolworths in Argyle Street and John Lewis in Buchanan Galleries - all in Glasgow - we were able to transform the venue into a festive wonderland. With their donations of Christmas decorations, funding for presents and a puppet show, the children and their families were entertained during the afternoon. The highlight of the party saw Santa arrive at his silver grotto to meet every child and give them a present. Diane Waugh, one of the organisers of the party said:
"We have been overwhelmed by the kindness of Cash for Kids, the Burgh hall and all the shops and would like to thank them for displaying the true spirit Christmas. Over a hundred children who use our services had a memorable time at our best party yet."
