Sense Scotland's Soundwaves project
launched in August 2014 at our Summer Sensations event and is
funded by Creative Scotland's Youth Music Initiative.
The project aims to open up the
world of music to new groups of young people we support in Glasgow
and extending to Dundee. As well as providing music sessions the
project offers opportunities for Sense Scotland support staff
and volunteers to be trained. This will expand our capacity to
deliver music sessions to young people who have previously had
limited access to these opportunities.
David McCluskey: "Soundwaves
performances have already highlighted the wide range of musical
styles and musical identities of participants exploring world
music, song, dance, new-media and electronic sound compositions and
improvised multi-sensory music."
